Task 1 Structure



1. Introduction (1 sentence)


Paraphrase the question using different words.



Example:



  • Question: "The chart shows the number of students studying different subjects."

  • Introduction: "The chart illustrates the quantity of pupils enrolled in various academic disciplines."



2. Overview (1-2 sentences)


Identify the main trends or most significant features.



Example:


"Overall, Science subjects attracted the highest number of students, while Arts subjects had the lowest enrollment figures throughout the period."



3. Body Paragraphs (2 paragraphs)


Describe specific details and data, grouping similar information.

Describing Trends



  • Increase: rise, grow, climb, surge, soar, jump

  • Decrease: fall, drop, decline, plummet, dip, slide
